The Suraktam Project is an ongoing health initiative implemented in schools across Vadodara and Bharuch districts, focusing on adolescent girls aged 12–18 years.

The project aims to reduce anaemia and increase awareness about sickle cell disease and thalassemia through early screening, preventive education, and nutritional support.

Key interventions include health assessments, anaemia and genetic disorder awareness sessions, haemoglobin (HB) testing, screening for sickle cell and thalassemia, Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) supplementation, nutritional guidance, counselling, and regular follow-up.

Through school-based monitoring and continuous engagement, the initiative works to improve haemoglobin levels, overall health, and school participation among adolescent girls.
